The EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) Regulation has been revised, and was published as a new regulation (EC) No 1221/2009. It was signed on 25th November 2009, published in the Official Journal on 22nd December 2009, and entered into force 20 days later on 11th January 2010.

05 Feb 2010 GHG emissions trading directive amended to include aviation activities
The Aviation Directive requires all (EU and non-EU) operators of fixed or rotary-wing aircraft over 5,700 kg (12,566 pounds) who fly to, from or within EU countries to participate in the EU Emissions Trading Scheme starting in 2012.
