  • 28 Nov 2008 Tom Dempsey retires from INAB

    Tom will retire from INAB, today (28th November 2008) after serving almost forty years in the public service. Seventeen of these forty years were in INAB with the last ten years as manager of INAB.

  • 01 May 2008 NACE 2 - Further information

    INAB has for many years used the EU NACE classification system for identifying areas of competence on schedules of accreditation for management systems certification bodies.



  • 01 May 2008 Transition to IS0 9001:2008

    IAF and ILAC have agreed an implementation plan to ensure a smooth transition of accredited certification to ISO 9001:2008, the latest version of the standard for quality management systems (QMS).



  • 01 Apr 2008 Report from EA Laboratory Committee - Athens

    The 15th meeting of the EA laboratory committee took place in Athens on the 12th and 13th of March 2008. The meeting was attended by James Stapleton on behalf of INAB.



  • 01 Jan 2008 INAB Assessor Forum - January 2008

    On January 22nd and 29th 2008, INAB hosted its 2nd INAB Assessor Forum in Dublin. INAB Assessors from Ireland, UK, Germany, Switzerland and Sweden participated.

  • 01 Dec 2007 NACE code changes for Certification scopes

    A new EU Council Regulation, 1893/2006, on statistical classification of economic activities (NACE codes, version 2) was published in December 2006 and comes into effect on 1st January 2008 .



  • 01 Oct 2007 ILAC weblink

    The International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) has developed a graphic symbol (Weblink) that can be used for linking to the ILAC website. This Weblink can be used from the websites of accreditation bodies, accredited laboratories, liaison partners and other interested organisations.



  • 01 Oct 2007 EMAS AWARDS 2007

    The Directorate General Environment of the European Commission is proud to announce the winners of the European EMAS Awards 2007 in the prestigious ceremony on the EXPO 1998 area in Lisbon. The European EMAS Awards 2007 is the most prestigious award in environmental management and has been handed to top companies and local authorities since 2005.



  • 20 Sep 2007 INAB HOLD 2 CLIENT WORKSHOPS

    On the 5th and 11th September, INAB held two client workshops in Cork and Dublin, respectively, for its members.

    INAB are delighted to announce that the 2nd INAB Assessor Forum will be held in Wilton Park House, Wilton Place, Dublin in January 2008.



  • 01 Aug 2007 ILAC celebrates 30 Years

    ILAC is the international cooperation of laboratory and inspection accreditation bodies which this year celebrates its 30th anniversary. One of the primary aims of ILAC is the removal of technical barriers to trade.



  • 01 Aug 2007 EA CERTIFICATION COMMITTEE - Sept 2007

    The EA Certification Committee held its 14th meeting in Vienna on 11th and 12th September 2007. Adrienne Duff attended on behalf of INAB. The committee is formed primarily of European Accreditation Bodies but also has representatives from stakeholder groups.



  • 01 Jul 2007 INAB APPROVE FIRST IRISH BLOOD BANK FOR EU BLOOD DIRECTIVE REQUIREMENTS

    On the 19th June, the Bon Secours Hospital (Cork), Reg No (153MT) became the first hospital blood bank to be assessed and approved for its competence to comply with the traceability and haemovigilance requirements (articles 14 & 15) of the EU Blood Directive 2002/98/EC Quality and safety of Human Blood and Blood Components.



  • 24 Mar 2007 Report on EA Laboratory Committee

    The 13th meeting of the EA laboratory committee took place in Dubrovnik, Croatia on the 8th and 9th of March 2007. The meeting was attended by James Stapleton on behalf of INAB.



  • 19 Mar 2007 EA Certification Committee

    The EA Certification Committee meeting was held in Gothenberg, Sweden on 27th and 28th February 2007. Adrienne Duff and Brid Burke attended on behalf of INAB. The EA Certification Committee comprises of members from the EA Accreditation Bodies and stakeholders representing Certification Body interests.

    Blood Bank Laboratory application forms (AF-1-D) should be completed in conjunction with Annex AF-1-D-BB "Annex to AF-1-D for Blood Banks for compliance with Article 14 & 15 of EU Directive 2002/98/EC".
