The Irish National Accreditation Board (INAB) is the national body with responsibility for the accreditation of laboratories, certification bodies and inspection bodies.  It provides accreditation in accordance with the relevant International Organisation for Standardisation ISO 17000 series of standards and guides.

It is the statutory body responsible for Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and is the competent body for EMAS (European Eco-Management and Audit Scheme).

INAB was established in 1985 and is a Committee of the Health and Safety Authority under the Industrial Development (Dissolution of Forfas) Act 2014. The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has overall responsibility for the administration and enforcement of health and safety at work in Ireland. 

In January 2010, the European Commission was notified by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (now DBEI) that INAB is the sole accreditation body for Ireland in line with regulation EC/765/2008. 

As part of our role as the National Accreditation body, we gather personal data from time to time. The security of your data is a priority and we are committed to respecting your privacy rights.  We will handle your data fairly and legally at all times. Collection and use of personal information:

INAB does not collect any personally identifying information about you when you visit our website unless you choose to provide that information to us.

You may choose to provide us with personal data (e.g. name, e-mail) in an e-mail message to the address listed on our website or by completing the “Contact Us” form on our website. We will use any details you provide in this way solely for the purposes of dealing with your query. These details are retained as per our record retention period of 10 years.   

In circumstances where you make an application for accreditation through the INAB CRM Portal, the information you provide in connection with your application is used by INAB solely for the purposes of assessing your application and for all purposes which are reasonably connected with the administration of your application, as set out in more detail in our Terms and Conditions, available here INAB Terms and Conditions (website link).  We retain these records for the duration of your relationship with INAB and for 10 years after in order to comply with our record retention policy.
